DR Automotive – Experts in DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) Cleaning

DPF Cleaning Service

At DR Automotive, we specialise in cleaning Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) and making sure they are kept in tip-top condition. This not only saves drivers a lot of money, it also helps to keep them on the road. No wonder the great people of Staffordshire prefer coming to us!

What is a Diesel Particulate Filter?

These filters were created so that diesel vehicles could meet changes in emissions regulations and they are as common now as catalytic converters are in petrol vehicles. The DPF is another weapon in the fight against vehicle pollution and it has shown itself to be highly successful. This relatively new technology does not come without its own issues though.

Harmful soot from starts to accumulate in the filter, and this slowly but surely begins to increase pressure on the exhaust system. This pressure lowers the performance and efficiency of the exhaust system. To combat this, before the DPF needs to be replaced, the filter must be regenerated.

During the ‘regeneration’ process, the temperature of the exhaust is brought to 600 degrees centigrade. At this temperature, the soot that has been building up in the filter is burned off. This happens without intervention by the driver, but there are many factors (the age of the car, driving style, fuel and oil types) that can interfere with the process.

Cleaning the filter at DR Automotive

Diesel Particulate Filters are very expensive to replace and cost the owner could find themselves looking at expensive bills. This can be avoided by bringing the car or van to a specialist garage, like DR Automotive, for a professional filter clean. Thankfully, this professional cleaning process is not as costly as you might think it is!

The DPF cleaning system that we employ is fast, efficient and means you don’t have the prospect of a huge bill to look forward to. At DR Automotive we make use of a system patented by TUNAP. This system brings with it a range of sought after features and benefits such as:

Short cleaning times
Brings the Diesel Particulate Filter to an almost new condition
It can be used when ‘regular’ regeneration is no longer an option
Can also be used as a preventative step

Aside from the massive cost savings, compared to filter replacement, the TUNAP cleaning system is also extremely effective and has been to clean over 100,000 Diesel Particulate Filters – making it a tried and tested cleaning method that drivers have come to know, love and trust.

Why not book yours in today before the expensive alternative becomes the only option?
